Muscle helps to burn fat and by embarking on a strength training program, you can build your muscle mass and lose fat at the same time. Instead of eating just three meals a day, have something to eat every 3 hours. Do this by having 6 small nutritious meals throughout the day. This will keep you feeling satisfied, and will speed up your metabolism. Metabolism slows down when the body goes into “starvation” mode.

Your body becomes afraid that food is scarce and will slow down to hold onto fat stores. By convincing your body that food is not in short supply, it will speed up and help you to burn calories quickly.

Replace bad fats with good fats. Bad fat raises cholesterol, while good fat will lower it. Fish is a great source of the essential fatty acids that the body requires. You can also get this benefit by using olive oils instead of corn oil. If you are afraid of using too much oil, there is fish oil supplements that you can buy that will take measuring out of your hands.

How to Chisel Away the FatOne thing that many people forget to do is to drink lots of water. Your body requires water to help eliminate waste and flush fat from your system. It also helps your organs to function properly. Becoming dehydrated will slow down all of the body’s processes, making you too tired too work out. Start and end the day with water, and be sure to drink it before, during and after any workout that you perform.
